The Tourist Route

Coming into the city there is a large factory smokestack with the letters B-A-L-T-I-M-O-R-E on it. From the highway, I can see Camden Yards where Cal Ripken played and Raven's Stadium where I attended the opening game as a kid. The skyscrapers that speak of capital, glory, achievement and success aren't far behind. All of my eye's attention is caught by these stadiums and skyscrapers. If  I take a second to look beyond all of the attractions, I begin to see the steeples of old churches and neglected  and worn out houses, the signs of a decaying community far off in the distance. Before I know it, I'm at the highway's end where the city of Baltimore begins. I am exited by the sense of adventure, just like I was when I was a little kid. My mind stops thinking about the mystery of the churches and the decaying houses that I saw and I am caught up in my very own big city adventure with not a care in the world and nothing but overflowing excitement welling up inside of me!
