The Tourist's Route
|
The city is lined with lights that
reach with aspiration to the skies above. The smoggy air calls to me as I await
the sounds of the city. Throughout my life, going back to Baltimore has always been an adventure. I
have had so many experiences in the city. Observing things on the streets and
watching through a car window have taught me a lot about how the world operates.
Citizenship is much more than political participation, citizenship is the
dedication of life to others. I believe giving to the community while living
and breathing with those of greater and lesser economic, political and social
status is a necessary tenant to civic engagement. Baltimore has been my backyard for 15 years.
Most tourists come to see what is good about Baltimore. Locals often drive to work
everyday and witness the horrors of neglect and the suppression of both equal
opportunity and condition. There are two paths to go about the journey of
"place" that are situated as links on the left and right columns of
the screen. The choice is yours...
