Outreach
Mason Experimental Geometry Lab
I served as the Interim Outreach Direct of the Mason Experimental Geometry Lab (MEGL) during the 2025-2026 academic year and will transition to Outreach Director in Fall 2026. MEGL Outreach activities introduces kids and the general public to discovery driven mathematics through hands-on actitivies in classrooms and public events. We currently visit an average of one school per week during the (GMU) academic year, with activities run by our undergraduate outreach interns and volunteers. If you are interested in scheduling an activity or learning more about our programs, please email meglout@gmu.edu.
Buckeye Aha! Math Moments
From Spring 2020 through Spring 2022, I esd the director of outreach for BAMM. You can read about our move to online activities, including the Beyond the Classroom camp, here.
In Spring 2022, I piloted a co-taught class on Recreational Math and Outreach. This course was in the approval process for the new Service Learning GE, and partially supported by a Course Development Grant from the Office of Service Learning.
I received a MAA Dolciani Mathematics Enrichment Grant to help cover the costs of the Summer 2021 Beyond the Classroom Camp.
Summer Illinois Math Camp
I co-founded the Summer Illinois Math (SIM) Camp, which fosters enthusiasm for math by introducing students to proofs and applications of math. As camp director, I was responsible for hiring graduate instructors and undergraduate assistant instructors, coordinating and planning camp, and finding funding to run camp.
Melinda Lanius, Simone Sisneros-Thiry, and I wrote about our experiences creating SIM Camp for the Notices of the AMS. [article]
I coauthored MAA Dolciani Mathematics Enrichment Grants totaling $14,000 from 2016 to 2018. I also received a $4,000 grant from the AMS Epsilon Fund in 2019, and two grants from the Chancellor's Public Engagement Student Fellow Grants totaling $2,500 from the University of Illinois Office of Public Engagement to run SIM Camp in 2015 and 2016.

I ran two team time activities with the Charlotte Math Club in Spring 2023 on Farey fractions. [January Problems, Solutions ] [Feburary Problems, Solutions]
In Summer 2021, I lead the online mathematics course at the Ohio State ATI Upward Bound Program.
From Spring 2016 to Spring 2018, I had a research assistantship to work on Illinois Geometry Lab outreach and planning for and running the Summer Illinois Math Camp.
I was also involved with the University of Illinois AWM Sonia Math Day and Girls Engaged in Math and Science as well as other outreach opportunities in the community.
