Executive Summary of the Project
The purpose and goal of this website is to introduce, inform, and teach the viewers of this site about the tiny, affordable computer, the Raspberry Pi. Raspberry Pi have many uses, but seeing one on its own can be confusing and daunting to some. This website is meant to introduce the minicomputer, provide information on general set up of the computer, and introduce some of the projects that can be completed using the computer. The Raspberry Pi is meant to be used by all ages, and is often a tool used in schools. This website will allow educators to point their students to a resource that will direct them to the information that they need in order to begin or continue working with the Raspberry Pi. Users may contact the creator of the site with any questions, concerns, or corrections regarding the information provided. The contact information is found on the “Meet Your Pi Baker” page.
Issue Impact Summary
This website addresses accessibility by adding alternative text to images, forms, and tables, including a long description of the complex image of the Raspberry Pi board, ARIA landmarks, and skip navigation to avoid issues with accessibility. These elements were included in this website to allow screen readers, like JAWS, to identify elements that users with out the ability to see could still understand it. Other elements that were addressed when thinking about accessibility was the colors used, using colors with high contrast helps all visitors when trying to read the content, as well as the use of headings and links. These headings and links allow the user to move throughout the website, even when a mouse is not available for use. All of these elements were addressed when thinking about the accessbility of this website for all.
