I have not had
much experience with web writing or creating web
pages but with regular writing I have had a lot of experience. I am
currently a Communications major with my concentration in Journalism. I
would love to work for Rolling Stones or Jane as a part of the politics
department. I would also love to work for MTV as a reporter or even an
online publication which this class would help me prepare for. I am
also considering minoring in English, so of course
writing is a major part of my daily life. I enjoy writing all
types of genre but mostly fiction and poetry because I believe these
give me more room be creative. With reports and non-fiction there are
certain boundries that are set. I know MLA, APA, and AP
fairly well, but there is always room for improvement.
What I wanted
to learn from 209 was how to make my own page.
Now I would also like to learn how to make the page interesting. I
would like to learn how to add music to a page or how to make the
background move. I would also love to learn how to construct a fairly
detailed page that includes moving graphics and tag which take you to
another page entirely. Many fansites out there are amazing because of
not only the graphics but also because of the little extras like the
videos or the moving icons. At the end of the class I would like to
learn these techniques some what. Learning to make web pages would help
me secure a job at several publications now due to having online
newspapers and magazines.
