Background and History
The history of Tanzania goes back to two million years ago. There were so many fossils found which shows the remaining of human body. People speak “Khoisan” and “Cushitic” in Tanzania. Around eight or ninth century Islam was being thought and practiced in the coast of Tanzania. Slave trading was also another thing that was being done at the time. In 1840 Tanzania became a place for Arab slave trade. Tanzania’s presidents are elected for a period of five years. Tanzania has only one party in power and all the opposition parties have no chance of taking over the government.
Farmers in Tanzania
Tanzania has a lot of farmers so the economy is based on the agriculture. Agriculture counts more than half of the country’s GDP. 80 percent of their workforce provides 85 percent of the net exports. That means that around 80 percent of the people living there are farmers and make their money from growing fruits and vegetables. The only problem is that the climate and topography gives them a lot of limitation and as a result only 4 percent of the lands are useable for farming. Tanzania has a lot of other resources for example gas and gold. Gas has been drawn in their nation’s capital (Dar es Salaam) and being sent all over the world since 2000s.
Having a computer would help these people in Tanzania to do distance education. They might not have access to a good teacher or someone who is educated enough to teach them but when having wireless internet and a computer they can easily go online, do their research and study there.
