Conceptual Framework
The kayak in this framework represents leadership. The ying yang symbol represents a balance between skills ( assistive technology) and policy. The kayak is the vehicle of action and moves freely through the water so long as it remains balanced. When it is off balance, either through lack of skills or ineffective policies, the journey becomes more challenging and at times may feel impossible. If educators and policy makers can work together to maintain the balance more people with disabilities will reach their full potential. My scholarly, professional and personal experiences have continued to move me toward this ultimate goal. Not to guide people to what I think they should or could do, but to help to provide an environment for them to move freely as they find their own way. |
