Fall Semester Courses
-
BIOL 213H - Cell Structure and Function The major goals of this course are to familiarize students with the basics of cell biology, to prepare them for further study in this field, to help them hone their critical thinking skills and to promote the awareness of these biological principles in everyday life.
-
BIOL 498 - Research Seminar This course is for students enrolled in the biology research semester program. During this course the student will learn to read, assimilate, understand and critique basic scientific papers. The student will practice presenting scientific research to an audience.

Summer Semester Courses
-
BIOL 485 - Eukaryotic Cell Biology Workshop This is a laboratory based workshop which introduces the student to many routine laboratory techniques such as mammalian cell tissue culture, western blotting, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), in vitro toxicity testing and microscopy. Firsthand knowledge and practice of these techniques can be applied towards a professional career in laboratory sciences and research, both in and industrial and academic setting.
Spring Semester Courses
-
BIOL 484 - Eukaryotic Cell Biology This course builds on the concepts and knowledge gained in BIOL213 (Cell Structure and Function). In BIOL484 we take a deeper look in to the integral workings of the eukaryotic cell, its cellular structure and components, post-translational modifications and trafficking of proteins, signaling and the cell cycle.
-
BIOS 740 - Laboratory Methods in Functional Genomic Workshop This class focuses on the techniques and practice of mammalian cell/tissue culture and molecular biological techniques which are used in translational research and genomic studies.
-
BIOL 585 - Eukaryotic Cell Biology Workshop This class will introduce you to the techniques and practice of Mammalian Cell/Tissue Culture and Biotechnology. You will be exposed to the routine tissue culture and molecular biology techniques.
