Modeling and Simulation I Class Projects

All of the following projects were assigned in Modeling and Simulation I, taught by Dr. Timothy Sauer and using his textbook Numerical Analysis. All of the projects used Matlab and many of the projects were completed in groups; all group members will be listed.

Project 1

Brad Strylowski, Shamaila Malik

The purpose of this project was to simulate a two-dimensional Stewart Platform using equation solving methods to find the solution to the forward kinematics problem.

Project 2

Brad Strylowski, Shamaila Malik

In this project, we simulated a GPS system and tested the benefits of additional satellites using Multivariate Newton's Method.

Project 3

Brad Strylowski, Henry Taing, Tony Kanaan

For this project, we modeled the two and three-body problems for gravitationally-governed systems. We used Euler's method and the trapezoid method to solve the differential equations following from Newton's Second Law.

Project 4

Brad Strylowski, Shamaila Malik, Shereef Sayed

This project modeled a heat-dissipation system governed by a system of partial-differential equations.

Project 5

Brad Strylowski

In this solo project, audio compression is explored through a least-squares approximation of an audio signal.
