Some points to notice in century+ record of hurricane strikes:
- Minimal strikes from VA to NJ. Probably not just distance from topics - New England had more storms. Probably not length of coastline - NC alone gets more hits with less coastline.
- NC gets hit a lot.
- Strikes per year is very uneven - FL had many hits in 2004-2005 but then none for about 10 years.
- Only a handful of Cat 5 storms in a century, making it hard to make any definite statistical statements about them.
