Welcome to the
Gamma Iota Chapter of the Alpha Chi Sigma Fraternity!
General Information We are a professional and social fraternity
for men and women in the chemical sciences. All members are bound by three fraternal objects:
- To bind its members with a tie of true and lasting friendship.
- To strive for the advancement of chemistry both as a science and as a profession.
- To aid its members by every honorable means in the attainment of their ambitions
as chemists throughout their mortal lives.
We are a very active chapter at Virginia Tech partaking in various academic, philanthropic,
and social events. We encourage all students interested in science to explore what our
fraternity has to offer and consider pledging Alpha Chi Sigma.

- National Conclave.
The 51st Biennial Conclave will be held July 24 - 29, 2012 in Iowa City, Iowa. If you are interested in
attending, please inform our district counselor, Claudia Brodkin, no later than July 15, 2012.
- Election Results.
Congratulations to our new officers for the Fall 2012 - Spring
2013 terms! A special thanks to our outgoing officers for a job well done!
- Professional Induction Ceremony. Congratulations to our graduating brothers as
they enter into membership with the professional branch!
- Initiation Spring, 2012. We welcome our 22 new brothers of the Beta Alpha pledge
class into our chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma!
- Relay for Life. Check out the VT Collegiate Time's article acknowledging our
fraternity at Relay for Life.
- 2012 Alumni Newsletter.

- Davidson Hall Renovations. Major construction continues in the building that houses the Department
of Chemistry. The expected result is new state-of-the-art lab space and lecture halls.
The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of the Fall 2013 semester. For more news,
