Disadvantages of Technology

On the contrary, even though the use of computers in the health care field may have positive benefits, negative impact does come into effect. While it may be true, that computers in the nursing field may be beneficial, it has been some concern with the development of this type of technology. Some of these disadvantages of computer use in the nursing field include: that more nurses will probably have to take classes for information technology, which could interfere with there availability during work, there could be issues with the computer losing data, more vulnerability to have viruses on the computer, which requires more time for the health workers to type in data, and creates a less personal interaction with the patient and doctor, pertaining to there visit. Many doctors are discouraged at the idea of the computers influencing the way that they will interact with their patients. This could possibly cause confusion and a sense of lost when dealing with patients who are not able to have enough time with there doctors, when wanting to understand more about the status of there health. For this purpose, all of these examples are negative feedbacks of what computers could potentially cause within the nursing field.
