Configuring Netscape 7.x Address Book for GMU E-mail Directory

[This configuration is optional. It allows you to have access to all GMU e-mail addresses. 
These settings do not delete your personal address book.]

1. Open your Netscape Browser. 
2. Click on "Window" (top menu). 
3. Click on "Address Book". This will bring up the Address Book window.
4. Click on "File". This will bring up a menu.
5. Click on "New".
6. Click on "LDAP Directory".  This will bring up the "Directory Server Property" window.
7. At "Description", type: GMU Directory
8. At "Host Name" (LDAP Server), type: directory.gmu.edu
9. At "Base DN" (Search Root), type o=gmu.edu (the alphabet, not the number)
Leave all other settings as the default.
10. Click on the "OK" button.  This returns you to the address book window. You should now have a new book called GMU Directory.
11. To search the directory first highlight the directory. 
12. To find an address, at "Name or E-mail contains" window," type the name of the person for whom you are seeking the e-mail address. Then press Enter.
The name and email address will appear.
