Part 2: Translated into Words

a) Text is harder to read on the screen. Users have no idea where the text on a screen begins or ends and the availability of the link removes the incentive to stick with tedious text.

Use white space to frame and punctuate the text and provide:

      • visual cues to where ideas begin and end
      • resting places for the user's eye

b) Graphic User Interfaces are still a text-based medium. Words appear:

      • on menus
      • in dialogue boxes
      • when we hover over an image, link or tool
      • on navigational bars
      • as titles
      • as headings

And they deliver the content to the user
Therefore, the choice of every word counts
