| Discovery Project #1: No Dreams, Just Perseverance |
Dreams as a child drive and encourage us to do great things. Our parents hearten our dreams and support us in whatever we choose; they encourage us to dream big because in adolescence we have the potential to do whatever we want. Dreams in most instances are often childish and unreal but we trust in them anyway. For most they are just a natural part of growing up; with age we realize what we can actually accomplish and our dreams change and alter to reflect our growing maturity. What would it be like to lack these seemingly inherent components of your childhood? This is how my mother thrived; she had no dreams, she had no time to dwell on what could be she was always concerned with what had to be done next in order to survive. “I just kind of go with the flow and always stayed a step or two ahead…the present was all I had to go on” (Gracie Henderson, September 8th)....
