Steven J. Eagle Biographical Sketch

Steven J. Eagle is a professor of law at George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, where he teaches property law, land use regulation, and seminars in constitutional law.
The fifth edition of his treatise Regulatory Takings was published in 2012 by Lexis Publishing. Professor Eagle also is the author of numerous other scholarly and popular works on land use and environmental regulation and on property rights issues. He frequently lectures in continuing legal education programs and for student groups. He is a former chair of Condemnation Law Committee of the Section of State and Local Government of the American Bar Association and former chair of the Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law's Land Use and Environmental Group. He is a member of the American Law Institute and a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
Professor Eagle studied economics at the City College of New York and is a graduate of Yale Law School. He has taught at the law schools of George Washington University, Vanderbilt University, Pace University, and the University of Toledo.
