Combining Keywords with OR

Combining two keywords with OR will identify those records in which either word occurs. Using OR can be useful if you have two synonyms for your subject and want to search for both at once, but doing this may also yield a large number of sources that may not be useful for your purposes.

The GMU online catalog does not require you to capitalize the "or" in a Boolean search.
