Francesc de Paula Soler
Master Guitarist,
Conservatorio de Música, Teatro del Liceu de Barcelona
Born in 1949, in the heart of a Spanish artistic family, Soler started his musical studies at the age of six, and later followed the tradition of Andrés Segovia. He has been the recipient of numerous prizes and awards, including the Medal of St. Alexis from the Russian Orthodox Church, and the nomination of Honorary Citizen of Dallas in recognition for his artistic merits. Regarding his wide international activity as a performer, the critics - calling him "Poet of the Guitar"- have hailed Soler as the most notable name in the new generation of Spanish guitarists. His Guitar Collection (Book and CD) can be obtained through Mel Bay Publications.
