Author Investigation
Part I
Choose an author whose work you admire for its form and content.
- Write a brief (one page) paper that explains why you admire this writer's work.
- Compile a complete bibliography of their work--be as thorough as possible, include books, articles, op-eds, etc...
- Choose one passage - no longer than 500 words that illustrates one of the aspects of this author's work that you respect.
- Choose one sentence form that would like to make a part of your repertoire--bring 5 copies of this sentence. You can use one sheet of paper and cut into sections.
Part II
Review several selections from the author you have chosen and make a list of the literary devices, the tropes, or the means of develoment the author employs. Bring examples to class of at least four. Short passages are probably best!
