Definition and why it's important
Color Theory is understanding how well colors work with each other to create an aesthetically pleasing website.
This theory is dependent on the "Color Wheel" which looks like this
Generally speaking, most websites will follow one of the following three schemes: triadic, compound, or analogous.
- Triadic - Refers to colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel.
- Compound - Refers to two colors which are chosen from opposite ends of the color wheel, doing so gives the website more diversity.
- Analogous - Refers to a small group of colors (such as 2 or 3) chosen from the same area/side of the color wheel.
