Accomplishments:

  • Conducted learner survey at Chantilly Mews
  • All team members completed Human Subjects Online Training
  • Team members individually gave topic presentations to the client as a preview to the white papers
  • Team created a rubric for evaluating gaming sites; using this rubric will provided consistency to our evaluations enabling us to better determine suitable gaming attributes to incorporate into our game design
  • Contact was made with Chris Scales, with Fairfax County Community and Recreation Services, to thank him for agreeing to be an SME for our project

 

 

Items Discussed:

  • A Program Coordinator’s survey instrument will be put together by Lenore using team member content contributions;  we discussed who should be given this survey – 6 names of local coordinators were suggested
  • Kevin assisted team with mapping out task analysis plan; team worked on drafting presentation of this plan to be delivered to EDIT 730 class on 11/20
  • Plans for obtaining science and math content skill information (optimal/actual) by grade level groups was discussed.  Attempts to gather this information online were not successful.  Rhonda will contact a Brookfield elementary administrator in hopes of getting this information; goal will be to obtain this by Monday morning, 11/20.  Once specific content can be determined, associations to gaming models can be made

 

Short Term Action Items:

  • Presentation of Task Analysis & Objectives to be given on Monday, 11/20 to EDIT 730 class
  • Team members will complete the Personal Values Inventory for Tuesday 11/21
  • Team will meet on Tuesday, 11/21 from 11:00-1:00 for team building activity; all members will come prepared with personal Myers Briggs documentation,  completed Personal Values Inventory, and a copy of the team norms that were developed in September

 

Long Term Action Items:

  • Team members will consider revisions to portfolios as suggested by Kevin
  • Team members will individually evaluate specific gaming sites using rubric designed for this purpose; evaluations will be shared on Monday, 11/27
  • Begin drafting design prototype
  • Individual white papers due 12/11
