Learning Outcomes

A major goal of this internship is to encourage you to think like a public school principal and to learn how to balance the real-world demands within this environment. Therefore, it is expected that you will develop the following knowledge and skills by the end of this course:

• Assume autonomy and accountability for decisions, while promoting teamwork within a school setting.
  
  
• Successfully manage the variety of challenges within the public school environment (e.g., parent concerns, budget constraints, staff shortages).
  
  
• Recognize the importance of working cooperatively with other school personnel/staff.
  
  
• Develop effective oral and written communication skills.
