Tools -- Description of Administrative Responsibilities
Being a public school principal is an ill-defined job. That is, principals
generally serve as a liaison between the faculty at the school and district
level personnel. At other times principals must perform a variety of interrelated
tasks, such as deciding how budget cuts will effect existing programs
at their school while handling parent concerns, student misconduct, and
teacher shortages. Therefore, it is important to remember that while a
principal's work day greatly varies, he/she must do their best to ensure
that the needs of parents, students, and faculty within the educational
community are met.
