Suggested Sequence

For new Toastmasters members, the diagram below represents a "bottom-up" suggested sequence for taking on the meeting roles in your club meetings. For example, you should consider giving at least two speeches before you become an Evaluator and evaluate someone else's speech. You should also be an Evaluator, Timer, and Grammarian before trying your hand at General Evaluator. Click on any of the boxes in the diagram to see some tips on preparing for and conducting that role in your club meeting.

Again, this is only a suggested sequence and is non-linear to give you the flexibility to try new meeting roles when you want to. You will fulfill these meeting roles more than once as you remain a member of Toastmasters. Come back here at any time to refresh your memory about these roles.
