Tips for the Timer/Vote Counter

To Prepare for the meeting

Confirm the scheduled program participants with the Toastmaster and General Evaluator. 
Confirm the time required for each prepared speech with the speakers. 
Table Topics speakers will always be 1-2 minutes 
Evaluators will always be 2-3 minutes 
Get the timing equipment from the Sergeant-At-Arms prior to the meeting's start.

During the Meeting

Review the instructions on the timing device and run a quick test to ensure that it is working properly. 
Sit in a place that can easily be seen by the speakers. 
When introduced, explain the timing rules and demonstrate the timing device. 
Throughout the meeting, complete the Timer's Report sheet. 
Record each participants name and time used. 
Tally votes as they are passed to you 
When called on to give your report, 
Give the speaker's name 
The required time 
The actual time 
Turn over the Report with the evening's ribbon winners to the Toastmaster.
