Tips for the Inspirational Opener

To Prepare for the Meeting

	You will be contacted by the Toastmaster of the Evening to confirm your role in the meeting
	Your Inspirational Opener should be approximately 1-3 minutes.
	An Inspirational Opener may be in many forms:  A poem  A personal experience  A story  A current event  you may be creative…you may choose to relate your Opener to an upcoming Holiday or Event

During the Meeting

	The Inspirational Opener will usually be near the beginning of the meeting.
	Be sure to arrive promptly so that the Toastmaster can be prepared to introduce you right at the start.
	You may wish to ask the audience to send you comments on a "comment ballot" after your presentation even though yours is not a formal speech.
