Aijun Zhu received her Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies from the University of Maryland in 2005. Her dissertation is entitled “The Cultural Production of Controversy: Feminism, Women Authors, and the Mapping of China.” Her research interests include modern Chinese literature, Contemporary Chinese Culture, Asian American literature, women’s literature, feminist theory, film/cultural studies and critical theory.
She has taught at the University of Maryland a number of courses such as modern Chinese literature, advanced Chinese readings, Chinese film and culture, classical and modern Chinese poetry, world literature by women, global literature, composition, women/art/culture, and introduction to women’s studies.
