My name is James Farley and I am honored to be a freshman at George Mason University. I am in the Integrative Studies Program and am concentrating in National Security and Counter-Terrorism Studies, Arabic, with a minor in Islamic Studies. I grew up in Ellicott City, MD but have been many places in my life. I have a great interest in International Relations and bridging the gap between Christianity and Islam. My passion is people and there is no other place I'd rather be than here at Mason. I look forward to the educational and professional experiences of the future.

Design is very important when taking into consideration the layout of anything that is supposed to convey a message to a viewer. My design scheme is purposely simple. For textual purposes, I used colors that would stand out against each other when put on top and below each other. For example, I chose to use white text with a blue background so the text was clearly readable. I also increased the size of the font in order to make the text more readable. Instead of making the links the same color as well, I chose light blue because it's still distinguishable in front of dark blue and it further signifies that it is not text but a link. In addition to the text, I used a table to organize the information in a formidable fashion.

For the NCLC110: Community of Learners website, I chose to use white text on black background. The contrast of color choice is also easy very easy to read. There are a total of five pictures as well. Each of these pictures is very tasteful in an artistic sense. I took these pictures while in Vienna, Austria. They represent me because I enjoy photography and capturing the greatness of the world around me. In the design layout, there are two pictures of ceilings. I put these at the top of the page and lined them up with the walls of the pictures in the corresponding table corners of the website. I also put the staircase in the middle as a visual focal point of reference so that all the text and other various pictures on the website revolve around a central image.
