Recommender systems aim to help users choose products and services. While state-of-the-art recommender systems focus on single products or services and individual users, my ongoing research project will extend recommender systems in three ways: (1) to consider package recommendations ; (2) to deal with multiple, rather than single, criteria associated with recommendations; and (3) to support heterogeneous groups of decision makers with different, or even conflicting, priorities and objectives. Complex group recommender systems having these features are important in many areas including organizational budget planning, investment in public infrastructure such as renewable energy and transportation, and group travel. There has been extensive work on recommender systems and more recently on group multi-criteria package recommenders and on multi-criteria package recommenders based on soliciting user feedback on Pareto-optimal sets, and on iterative improvement. However, many research gaps remain open, which was the focus of my Decision Guidance Management System research. Here I worked under the supervision of Professor Alex brodsky
