In summary, this essay has in a sense served as a value supply chain system. By laying a foundation, the essay built upon and refined the argument. The overarching goal is to develop Mauritania’s economy through the use of an ICT. My proposal is to have Mauritania continue working with Senegal’s submarine fiber-optic cable to produce more opportunities for more inland network connectivity development. Moreover, concurrent ongoing development of Mauritania’s solar energy would be essential to the country’s economic development. The PV/thermoelectric technologies could be utilized to replicate the Desert PC project which was implemented in Mali; as Mauritania’s geographical terrain consists mainly of arid desert land, a computing device that can adapt to the climate, is of utmost importance. Further, once a sound network bandwidth support and technological boost (via the Desert PC) have been established, clients from the rural areas of Mauritania can have access to the internet where they could request microloans from MFIs to begin privatizing and create small businesses.
