Portfolio Statement

I have been a creative writer since high school and I've wrote many different pieces on a computer, but I have never written a pieces on a computer like this. What I mean by that is the format of which I wrote the piece. By learning how to use Twine own story were my reader could choose their own paths to follow. With Calibre I was able to make an E-book of one of my own pieces that I have been working on. Digital creative writing has help me learn a lot of things that I know that it will be useful to me. So, now I'm going to tell the people who read my work; how to read it.

To begin, the easiest story to read is the E-book of my story The Guardian Angel; it’s my best work and the first work I plan to sell one day. When you read this e-book you should start from the beginning to end. This is not the complete story, but if you read it beginning to end you'll understand the whole story up to the point to where it ends. The second thing I would advise to anyone who reads this E-book is to drop your beliefs at the beginning of the story. Like if you don't believe in God, angels, and/or demons. This story is meant to be read for both Christians and non-believers as a fictional piece, but it can't fully be enjoyed if you hold on to your own beliefs so tightly. The techniques I'm using are just the basic super-hero method; average person in a supernatural predicament, gains super-powers or abilities, and uses his powers to save lives. It’s nothing too difficult to understand also, I'm using a third person point of view in this piece so the read can imagine every detail. If I had to say what makes The Guardian Angel different from traditional work, I would say that it’s easier to move through the pages and to book mark were you stopped.

Now as for my twine story Hero Adventure, all can I say is follow the path that seems appropriate if you don't want to get confused. When reading this story just think it’s like an RPG game you’re the player who is just starts out. You have to choose the right path that any new player would take if you don't you die. Although, you can play it again as many times you like, but you must start at the beginning. Like my book this Twine story leaves you at a cliffhanger that makes you want to play more but, the many point of the story is to follow the right path and gain allies to defeat the level 7 monster (no spoilers but, don't try and go it alone). For this story I think I'm using a straight forward technique that puts the reader on the right path and they get to enjoy the dialog and story telling that goes with it. Hero Adventure is more like a game than an average story you would read and the choices you make are simple if you read the story. Also, in traditional works you have to flip through different pages when you want to make a decision on the path you should take this is much easier.

I have given the reader the best way on how to read my tales. I know that it may sound like my stories are strict or simple from my explanations, but when you read my stories you'll understand. Or if you want to skip my artist statement of my work and get to the good part of reading the stories that’s okay too. Either way I just hope you enjoy my stories when your read them.
