Motivation is a word that's
used quite a lot. There are numerous definitions of motivation because
there are many different personalities that are motivated through
different factors.
Needs are
the ultimate source of motivation. People work for different reasons.
Some people want money, some want challenge, and some want power.
Myths about Motivation:
- Reducing Time spent at work. The fact is that motivated people seek more hours of work, not fewer.
- Wages. Increasing salary motivates but will lead to expectin next increase.
- Benefits. Employees have less motivation with more benefits.
- Human Relations Training. Human factor is not always motivating.
- Sensitivity Training
- Communication. There is a gap language between managers and employees.
- Two-way Communication. Each employee has different goals to achieve.
- Job particiption or Employee counseling
