{Children Museum: The Melthing Pot}

For my synthesis I will discuss the steps and process taken to complete my integrative three project.

Brainstorming:

Before coming up with the final product for our integrative three project, my group and I had to formulate ideas and brainstorm. Each group member was assigned to a particular task, which had to be fulfilled on the specific deadlines. What we hoped to accomplish by brainstorming was to gather information from everyone and have something to research or further our plans. Brainstorming also helped us to stay organized and keep everything on a schedule. We were able to do this, because we all wrote down each other’s ideas and kept them in mind when furthering our assignment. By brainstorming my group and I were able to decide on what to plan our museum exhibit on. We also were able to think of everything that goes into every room and where to place them.

Research:

For the research portion, my group and I all had a particular assignment that needed to be completed. We decided to do research all together in the library and even on our own time. For the research we did in the library our goal was to gather information on German immigrants, complete our brochure, and write our narrative. The research we had to complete on our own was about our specific rooms we each picked. We needed to find out what kind of immigrants came from the country that produced the particular food. Also, each person had to find out general knowledge, interesting facts, and anything that explains why the food chosen relates to the immigrant group. The research allowed all of us to find out a lot of new information we never knew about the foods or the immigrant group.

Collaboration:

Putting everyone’s ideas together and collaborating on the information found was the next step taken to complete our assignment. My group and I collaborated on many things during this assignment. Whenever each one of us found information during the research process we would always inform each other, so no one would have the same information. Collaboration is like teamwork, and if one group has a weak group a lot of the people will suffer. Even though my group and I did in fact face some obstacles, we all worked them out in the end. In order to successfully complete any group assignments the collaboration between each other needs to be even and always brought to a compromise.

Presentation:

The presentation is the final part to my integrative group project. This part consists of all the information my group and I found, and presented to the class in an orderly manner. For our presentation my group and I decided to split it up. We decided the best way to do so was for each of us to talk about what we specifically had to research. Everyone had to make note cards with their information on it so that the transitions were on point, and so that no one forgot what they would be talking about. The presentation was the most important part of this assignment. It was our way to get the message out about our museum to everyone in the classroom. By talking about each of the rooms and the whole concept of our museum we were able to teach our peers more about our project.
