The History of Navy

The Color Navy

Navy blue or navy is a darker shade of the primary color blue- due to how dark the color of navy is, many mistake it for the color black. I choose navy as my color to research because it has been a color that I find myself associated it with, from my undergraduate college having navy as one of their colors to it being the color of my husband's tux at our wedding.


Who is Navy

There is no confusion onto why our country incorporates blue or navy into their military branches and government webistes, buildings, and why politicians where blue suit stems from the idea that blue conveys a psychologic perspective of responsibility, honesty, and loyalty. Of course when I searched navy, I got the United states Navy, however I was not intending to research that Navy, but i did find that that branch of the military has always had close ties to the color Navy. From the ocean and seas being blue in apperance to their uniforms coming from a long histroy of incorporating navy into the color scheme.


Color and Personality

At the same time, you also have a deep need to be trusted. You are not impulsive or spontaneous - you always think before you speak and act and do everything at your own pace in your own time. You take time to process and share your feelings. You are genuine and sincere, and you take your responsibilities seriously. Having a personality color blue means you have a deep need for peace and harmony in your everyday life - you don't like having your feathers ruffled. Navy as a Hexidecimal Color

Blue has many hexidecimal color codes associated with it, the color can be darker and lighter in an infinite amount of ways- however i found that when I use navy in my HTML and CSS files, I stick with two codes, navy: 00033 and dark navy: 000080. Both give me a deep and sharp navy bluei look for and i find I like to add contrast with the text being lighter, I like to stick to a pale take on the primary colors yellow, pink, teal.
