Research Paper (RP1-3)

Each student will write a a 5-10 page, single-spaced paper about a telecommunications management (or telecommunications technology) topic of his or her choice. This paper should be a summary of the important issues in a particular area - an overview that provides an introduction and some detail.

A great deal of latitude will be provided regarding the topic and the specific organization, level of detail, and coverage of these papers. There are three specific deadlines:

RP1 - a detailed outline and initial bibliography
RP2 - a first draft
RP3 - a final draft

Note that there are no points at stake with the RP1 and RP2 deadlines. Nevertheless, they are required deliverables. They are there to keep you on track and on task. "On track" because my experience is that some student put in a lot of work but lose substantial points when their paper is focused on the wrong things. "On task" because my experience is that while graduate students are typically very conscientious, they are also extremely busy. But starting early and working gradually through these complex topics is the best way to achieve a high grade on this project.

I will provide feedback after RP1, and to those who request it after RP2. As with the other deliverables in this course, you are always free to make requests.
