Politico senior political writer weighs in on the Clinton/Obama race.

By : Will Scullion

While speaking to students from three different universities, Mike Allen, the senior politcal writer for The Politico, expressed his feeling that Hillary Clinton's continued campaigning is an exercise in futility.

Allen spoke to students from Pace University, Denver University and George Mason University about the current political landscape via teleconference from the C-Span studios in Washington D.C. The conference took place on March 27.

Early in the conference addressed certain moments in the campaign, while not expressing an opinion on who he though would win. It was not until moderator Steve Scully addressed an article Allen had written claiming Clinton had no chance of winning, that Allen expressed his feelings on the democratic race.

"She is depending on the fact that the democratic party, which relies on that constituency and which has had African-Americans as a very loyal constituency is going to say to Sen. Obama, congratulations, you got the most delegates," Allen said. "But our nominee is going to be Senator Clinton."

During the conference, Allen also addressed the rebuilding process that Senator Mccain will have to go through with the Republican party and the way the various 24-hour news networks handle news.
