Dr. Wenying Ji is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Infrastructure Engineering at George Mason University. He received his PhD in construction engineering and management from the University of Alberta. He also holds a master's degree from Texas A&M University and a bachelor's degree from Southeast University. Dr. Ji is an interdisciplinary scholar focused on the integration of advanced data analytics and complex system modeling to enhance the overall performance of infrastructure systems. His current research includes (1) equitable planning and operation of future infrastructure, (2) advanced informatics for infrastructure management under extreme events, (3) spatiotemporal system modeling and simulation, and (4) risk and uncertainty quantification. Dr. Ji has published 40 papers in a variety of top-tier journals and conference proceedings, such as the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, Natural Hazards Review, Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, and Automation in Construction. Dr. Ji also serves an editorial board member of the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management. Dr. Ji has received multiple professional recognitions, including the Best Paper Award Honorable Mention from the Journal of Management in Engineering and the outstanding reviewer awards from the Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, and Winter Simulation Conference.
