Book

A recent study revealed a shockingly low percentage of researchers conducting secondary analyses of publicly available survey data properly account for the complex survey features inherent in the design (e.g., weights, stratification, clustering). Failing to account for these features leaves the researcher vulnerable to reporting biased point estimates and making flawed (and often anti-conservative) inferences.

Complex Survey Data Analysis with SAS®, published by CRC Press in 2016, provides ample background on the rationale behind the presence of these complex survey features, and equips the reader with the tools to confidently account for them by employing the SURVEY family of SAS/STAT® procedures. You can purchase a copy from the publisher's page or Amazon. A single syntax file to reproduce all examples appearing in the book can be downloaded for free here. For the code to execute properly, you will also need to download a ZIP file containing all SAS data sets here.
