CFP: Biographical Entries Sought -- North American Historical Figures
Alexander Street Press seeks short biographical entries for inclusion in
its  EARLY ENCOUNTERS IN NORTH AMERICA database.


Alexander Street Press -- an electronic publishing firm noted for its North
American Women's Letters and Diaries and for Civil War Letters and Diaries
-- is publishing a full-text searchable database titled EARLY ENCOUNTERS IN
NORTH AMERICA. Collecting together such well known series' as The Jesuit
Relations and Allied Documents and Early Western Travels with lesser known
works from European explorers and American Indians, EARLY ENCOUNTERS IN
NORTH AMERICA spans writing about North American history from its earliest
days to the mid-1870's.


Short (200-500) biographical entries on approximately 100 people important
to the history of North America are sought from those working in and around
the academy. Contributors' names and institutional affiliations will be
prominently displayed on the biography pages.


A sample list of people for whom biographies are needed follows. Please
