Effect on Reader Now remember, the reader is also known as the viewer and the one who determines their journey. Yes, the reader/viewer is the main character who is creating their own game. I asked my friend to go and try to play the game while I was next to her and it was not the same. First off, I was no longer in charge in the journey and she was. I was trying to keep interested but it was a little bit more difficult because I was not the one who was in control with everything. A plus is that I did not get as frustrated during the game because it was not on me anymore it was all up to my friend. The reader which was originally me decides what happens and is in control of my journey. I will admit that it was amusing and enjoyable at times to just be walking through various areas of the journey and sometimes getting know where or at exactly where I started. I would have liked to figure out if I completed the story and found my ending of if there was still an ending that I did not make it to. Meaning, did I really complete and finish the game/journey, I am not sure. Of course, there would be other stages/courses, locations and so on that I could not get to that other readers may be able to. The effect on the reader is that they are involving themselves with interative fiction, the reader is the main character, the reader is the one who is deciding all of the decisions and paths taken. |
