  • Introduction to Marketing, MKT/421, B.S.B.A./B.S.B.M. Programs
    This course involves an integrated analysis of the role of marketing within the total organization. Specific attention is given to the analysis of factors affecting consumer behavior, the identification of marketing variables, the development and use of marketing strategies, and the discussion of international marketing issues. Topics covered include the social and economic implications of marketing; multinational globalized marketing; strategic marketing research and planning; marketing mix considerations, creative differentiation and targeted segmentation; managing marketing functions within integrated organizational systems; and, ethical marketing.

  • Business Research Methods, MGT/480, B.S.B.A./B.S.B.M. Programs
    This is an introductory business research methodology course emphasizing the application of the principles of management science and the scientific method to real-world business situations. Topics include: The scientific method vs. scientific methods; needs assessment/analysis; cost-benefit analysis; evaluation and results analysis; and, business research in a quality environment.

  • Introduction to Education Research, EDRS 590, Masters of Instructional Technology Program, Graduate School of Education
    This is an introductory course in education research. The course focuses on the development of skills, insights, and understanding basic to performing research, with an emphasis on interpretation and application of research results. It provides a foundation for those who have little or no experience in education research. Topics include: Introduction to sampling and measurement; mapping out the research process; qualitative research methods and analyses; quantitative research methods and analyses; introduction statistics, and; research report writing and evaluation.

    This course focuses on an in-depth analysis of statistical and applied quantitative methods within a business-related framework. The course provides students with a sound foundation for more advanced statistical and quantitative studies. Topics include: the presentation of business and economic data with quantitative analysis; fundamentals of decision theory and payoff matrix models; decision trees and expected value of perfect information; statistical quality controls; forecasting methods; inventory control models; linear programming: graphical, computer methods with applications; transportation and assignment problems; network models; project management; waiting lines queuing theory; and simulation model.
