PACKAGING TAPE DISPENSER FOR MAIL
PACKAGES Overview: The
purpose of this exercise is to demonstrate the use of a mailing device used
for mailing packages. It is for the
use of anyone who needs to use such a device, especially people in mail rooms
and post offices across the country. Definition:
Description:
·
The tape roll
consists of packaging mailing tape, either clear or brown in color. ·
The light gray
metal portion of the dispenser holds and dispenses the tape and connects to
the base and handle by a large, sturdy metal bolt. ·
The sturdy 4”
long, plastic blue handle is 1˝-2” wide for easy usage.
ADDING TAPE TO THE PACKAGING TAPE DISPENSER ·
Remove the old
tape roll from the dispenser by pulling it off the dispenser. Before doing this, be sure all tape is
removed from around the roller. ·
Put the new
tape roll on the disperser with the sticky side downward onto the tape
roller. ·
Pull the tape
through the black roller, over the cutter, and over the plastic shield. CAUTION: The sharp
cutter on device may cause injury to finger and/or hand. Avoid putting your fingers or hand near
this area. ·
Store the
unused tape on the plastic shield or on the handle to eliminate waste of
product. PLACING TAPE ON A PACKAGE ·
Pull tape over
the mail bag, box, or mail paper. ·
Use the cutter
to cut the tape when enough tape is dispensed. ·
Carefully
secure the tape to the package when covering the package with tape. ·
Put a mail
label on the package with the address to the recipient and the return address
on it before mailing the package. ·
Mail the
package.
