Reaction of L-arginine to N-hyroxy-L-arginine to Citrulline and NO: This reaction synthesizes nitric oxide as an end by-product to L-Citrulline by using oxygen radicals and NaPDH (as electron donors). It has an intermediate of N-hydroxy-L-arginine. This whole reaction is a 5 electron oxidation.
