          The essay was submitted as a minor field requirement in the graduate history program at George Mason University. The Department of History and Art History describes this requirement as a demonstration of “professional competence through a mastery of the literature, but should also review current practices, institutional behavior, or procedural norms relevant to the field.” This field statement is a demonstration of the use of digital technologies in history education in addition to the standard written requirement.
