How You Can Help to
Develop LABIE
The success of this page will largely depend on how
much information we can get on our resource base. We are
basically depending on people volunteering information to
include in the web page to be available to Sri Lankan
business community. Information contained under
"Information Exchange" section of this site
will be categorized under two main headings,
- Resource Personnel
Information
- This is where readers will be able to find people
with specialized knowledge in specific areas who
are willing to work with Sri Lankan companies.
Resource Personnel are categorized under
different sections such as Technologists,
Marketers, Educators, Consultants, etc. As the
number of people under each category grows, we
will further categorize the resource personnel in
to different disciplines.
If you have special knowledge in an area where you
think a Sri Lankan business and you can mutually benefit,
please send us the following information. We will put
your information on line to be available to all readers
of LABIE. If a Sri Lankan business see a potential match
of skills, they company may contact you to discuss the
details.
- E mail Address (preferred)
- Telephone/Fax numbers (optional)
- Mailing Address (optional)
- Two to three sentence description of your area of
specialty (examples, Marketing, technology,
consulting, education, etc.)
Please E-mail above information
to srilanka@gmu.edu
LABIE will not be responsible for coordinating
specific tasks; our objective is to make the initial
contact possible. We hope that Sri Lankan business will
go through our database and try to find a potential match
for their requirement. Once the initial contact is made
through LABIE, it is up to you and the other party (a
company or individual) to discuss the details of the
task.
- Sri Lankan Company
Information
- To make the information flow more efficient, we
think it is important to list Sri Lankan
companies with specific requirements, so that
another reader who has the knowledge may contact
the company. As much as a companies can scan
through resource personnel database to find a
potential match, resource personnel them selves
will look through company requirements to see if
there are area for potential opportunities. This
will make the information flow a two way process.
Companies that are worried about what to disclose
on a public forum such as LABIE, may include
general information regarding the task and
discuss specific details on an individual basis.
We urge Sri Lankan companies to help us build
LABIE database by E-mailing the following
information,
- Contact Person (Name and designation)
- E-mail address (preferred)
- One paragraph description of the company
- Short write up about specific area of expertise
sought (marketing, technology transfer etc.)
Please E-mail above information
to srilanka@gmu.edu
