Over the course of the semester my concept of knowledge and research has greatly changed. I realized how important doing research really is. Although a person may think that they are knowledgeable about a subject and therefore credible to talk about it, there is no way anyone person can know everything about a subject. There is so much research being done to gain more information and a better understanding of that information. An important thing, however, is to make sure which sources are credible and which are not. I also learned that doing research does not just have to be done when writing papers. Research is a daily part of life. When a person is interested in something and decides to learn more about it, that is research. For example, if you see someone doing magic tricks, you may become very interested in learning and ask that person if they could give you some tips. Overall, I realized that the more informed and knowledgeable a person becomes, the more capable that person will be at making decisions and getting their point across. Knowledge is power.
