Located in the northern tip of South America, Guyana has been a country of interest for other bigger, more powerful countries in the past because of its gold reserves and strategic location.

Some of the past rulers of Guyana had been British, Dutch or Portuguese. In the year 1966 a revolution lead to the establishment of a new government party that still rules the country today. Although it may be an independent nation, Guyana is not without its problems. Because of its location next door to Venezuela and Brazil and having an open access to the North Atlantic Ocean, a lot of drug trade and its corresponding problems are plaguing Guyana.

Additionally, issues of racial diversity make it an unsettled country. There are six different races in Guyana with the majority being Africans and Indians, which were initially brought to the country as slaves centuries ago to help the country’s economy.

Presently, Guyana exports large quantities of diamonds and gold to the international market through the means of various middle men. As with any marketing endeavour, an elimination of the middle men would result in increased profits for everyone in the market.

In order to increase the competitiveness of Guyana worldwide a B2B service that would sell the locally mined minerals directly to the international market by cutting out the middle man is proposed to aid in the country’s competitiveness. This approach would work for other products as well.
