Problem 1
|
From the Intensity-Duration-Frequency curve shown in Figure 4.4, page 187, of the text, determine the
missing values of intensity, depth, duration, or frequency of the following
table. For each missing value that you supply, write a short
explanation (one or two sentences) explaining how you determined the value.
This
is problem 4.11 on page 224 of the text. |

Problem 2
|
Find the average rainfall depth using the station-average,
Thiessen, and isohyetal methods for this watershed.
Rainfall data from the rain gages are given below:
Write
a short report explaining what you did and what average rainfall depth you
would recommend using for this watershed. The report should be no more
than one page, double-spaced, font size 12, and margins of one inch on all
sides. This
is problem 4.55 on page 233 of the text. |

Problem 3
|
Use the procedure in Section 4.6.2 of the text to develop
a 100-year, 24-hour design storm for Baltimore, using a 3-hour
increment. Use Figure 4.4 for IDF
data. Also place the design storm in dimensionless form. Provide
details of your calculations to produce the design storm and its
dimensionless form. Also provide graphs analogous to Figure 4.16. This
is problem 4.64 on page 234 of the text. |
