Regulating Television

I'm sure that almost everyone in the United States has television sets and watches daily.  For instance,  people are curious how traffic would be on the way to go to work or get back to home, or weather for their personal plans like field trips or picnics, and so on, so most of the people may start their days with watching television.  People sometimes get useful information, interest, and many more on television.  That is how I think the function of television is.  Of course, television has to serve public good because television is part of our lives now.  However, it also has to exist for benefit at the same time.  Broadcasting advertisements among the programs on television is an example.  They have to make profit to keep broadcasting for the public.  That is the reason why television should be both public good and profit.

Then, do they not have any obligation if they at least keep both public good and benefit no matter which one of two takes more part than the other?  They have an obligation to keep those two balanced.  If most of the part on television is for public good like information, or interest, it is good for us but may not for their profit.  On the other hand, if there are too many advertisements it should only persuade the people's consumption.  This is not at all.  Television has to be fair for all the viewers.  People are really various; some people can like indecent programs, some people can like educational programs, and so on, so television has to be fair for all the people considering that television affects all the viewers in any ways.

It is the reason why government act has to restrict them.  It should control the part of television broadcasting.  In Hennock's testimony, she mentioned that Since radio and TV operate in the public domain, the FCC should set up proper programming standards (from Hennock's testimony document).  Television is needed to be adjusted appropriately by government act.  It can be by putting such as educational or informative programs on schedule as a mandatory, rating contents not to influence any group of people, or establishing program schedule by determination that what kind of group of the people watch what what kind of programs at what time.

I also took the polls and was in the majority in all the polls.  Those are all true.  television should be required to be a balanced viewpoint, it can be subjective for any specific group since everyone watches it.  There are sometimes kind of indecent programs which have to be limited but not strongly, they also should reserve a part on schedule for public service programs.  These results may be all to be fair and balanced.  Television broadcasting can't be always perfect for everyone.  Therefore, it has to be adjusted regularly.
