About Sheila

Welcome to Sheila Cycles. You will find assignments from my courses in the PhD history program at George Mason University.

I currently work at The Center for History and New Media at Mason. From 1997-2004, I worked at the The Navy Museum in the Education Department.

In Oct 2004, I married a super guy, Ian Bird.

I began GMU's doctoral program in Fall 2002, and hope to finish before 2008!

My latest web project is Admiral Byrd in Antarctica which is an online exhibit of artifacts displayed at The Navy Museum.

If you are interested in becoming an electronic researcher, check out this collaborative work I contributed to in the January '05 issue of Perspectives: "Taking a Byte Out of the Archives: Making Technology Work for You," or the in-depth website: http://www.archiva.net/electronicresearcher.
